Wolf Pack sticking together

The Under 16s Girls go into the festive season with a top of the table clash with Queensbury Celtic, the first meeting away from home was a very one sided affair.  Strong recent results have seen Queensbury firmly into second spot with just the defeat to Woodkirk separating the teams, so this could prove a different test as they too had a good result against the Mustangs.

The U16s have had an impressive start to the season with only the narrow defeat on penalties (3-2) to Leeds Ladies in the League Cup the only loss so far.  Recent results have seen them beat Horsforth St Margarets and winning away at a very strong and physical Marsden Mustangs. The girls have come together really well with recent signing Tara ONeill a great addition to the squad.  Tara has previously been at the Leeds United RTC and the York RTC there loss is our gain. Tara has settled in well and had a great game against both Leeds Ladies and Marsden Mustangs.

The following week will be a strong test as Woodkirk will take on Brighouse Town in the League Shield on the 8th December.  Massive Thank you to Abtech for their continued support of the girls this season we look forward to 2019 and wish everyone associated with Woodkirk Valley FC a very Merry Christmas.
