Two Hat-Trick as U15’s Cruise to Away Win

October 21, 2018

Sunday 21st October 2018 – Wrenthorpe vs Woodkirk Valley U15’s This years Division 2 is proving to be a competitive league and Woodkirk’s away performance last week to North East Leeds proved the point as they were on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline.  It was a poor performance from the lads and one they were looking to put right this morning. With Ben still out injured and Louie…

Woodkirk U15’s 3 -2 Garforth Rangers

October 8, 2018

After a poor first half display by Woodkirk’s standards, our U15’s played some quality football in the second period and deservedly beat Garforth Rangers in this GJFL match. The game started positively enough for Woodkirk, Brad continued his continued his good early season form and goal scoring after converting a cross from Tulips. 1-0 Woodkirk on 6 mins. Following the goal the game became very scrappy and the quality of…

Wolves beat Stallions

October 3, 2018

Following last weeks away win against the Chargers, Woodkirk stepped out on their home ground at Manor Croft to take on the Stallions.  Much the same as their sister team, the Stallions looked to get the ball forward at every opportunity and in footballing terms, Woodkirk were far the better team.  However, the Stallions competed well in each and every challenge and their lone striker provided them with real strength…

3 Points for U15’s

September 23, 2018

On what turned out to be a sunny September morning, Woodkirk came away with the full three points that were on offer after completing a 1-5 win away to HSM Chargers.  The only disappointment came in 73rd minute when complacency allowed HSM to score a consolation goal.  It would have been nice for the lads to come away with a clean sheet, particularly as the defensive unit were so dominant….

Away win for U15’s

September 19, 2018

A 2:00pm KO for our U15’s away to  Sherburn White Rose saw them secure their first win and maintain their unbeaten start to the new season.  On arriving the lads were pleased to see some grass on the field after last season’s visit to a mud bath.  However, during the warm up it was clear that the pitch was very firm and with the slope and wind, passing accuracy and…

Honors Even in U15’s Season Opener

September 12, 2018

Our Under 15’s came away with a point in their first outing of the 2018/19 season.  In truth it felt like a loss after conceding in the last few minutes in what was a strange game of football that finished 6-6. After going 2 nil down early in the game Woodkirk were level by the 22nd minute following goals from Harrison and an OG following good work and a cross…

Whinmoor 2 – 3 Woodkirk U14’s

November 12, 2017

Sunday 12th November 2017 – Whinmoor vs Woodkirk Valley U14’s A minutes silence was immaculately observed by both sets of players prior to today’s top of the table clash between two good teams.  Woodkirk were without some key players and the manager was forced to shuffle his pack but the squads attitude and versatility can never be questioned. With the low sun a factor, Whinmoor won the toss and made…

9-1 Home Win for U14’s

October 29, 2017

Woodkirk Valley vs Thornes Juniors – 29th October 2017 After a week with no football due to a waterlogged pitch which followed a 4-7 home defeat to Farsley Celtic (where did that result come from?), our U14’s were more than ready for today’s game against Thornes.  Due to the school holidays, the WVFC manager had just 12 players available for selection but he was confident that the lads were up…

October 1, 2017

Farsley Celtic vs Woodkirk Valley U14’s (1st October 2017) A 12pm KO ensured Woodkirk’s players and supporters were fortunate enough not to have to witness Leeds United’s loss away to Sheffield Wednesday.  Fortunately, Woodkirk’s U14 put a smile on their faces with a well rounded performance against Farsley after they came out on top with a 1-4 away win. Farsley were an organised and well drilled outfit who looked to…
