Woodkirk U15’s 3 -2 Garforth Rangers

After a poor first half display by Woodkirk’s standards, our U15’s played some quality football in the second period and deservedly beat Garforth Rangers in this GJFL match.

The game started positively enough for Woodkirk, Brad continued his continued his good early season form and goal scoring after converting a cross from Tulips. 1-0 Woodkirk on 6 mins.

Following the goal the game became very scrappy and the quality of the football suffered.  Garforth took advantage of some poor referring decisions and found themselves heading into the break in the lead.

1-2 Garforth at half time.

The lads were told in no uncertain terms that their first half display was well below the accepted standards and they responded in terrific fashion.  JP found himself with nothing to do as the lads camped themselves in the Garforth half and upped the level of intensity.  Woodkirk scored two second half goals without reply; Tulips scored on 44 mins and Alex scored the goal of the game to cap off a fine individual performance on 51 mins.

3-2 Woodkirk at full time.

A very pleasing result for Woodkirk and a good team performance.  MoM went to Alex who had his best game of the season and scored a superb goal.

Next week Woodkirk are away to North East Leeds.
