14th June
On Sunday 14th June, the under 14's were runners up at the Durkar Devils Gala. After some very close games and some exceptional football in the final, it remained 0 - 0 after extra time, Woodkirk then lost out in the resulting penalty shoot out. Click here to see the photographs.
28th June
On Sunday 28th June, WVFC under 14's won the Crofton Gala. After 6 games, 6 wins and scoring 17 goals without reply, they were resounding winners, this made up for just losing out against Crofton in the Durkar gala. The whole team played exceptional football throughout. Congratulations also to the other under 14's team that made it through to the semi final narrowly missing out on an all Woodkirk final. Congratulations to the Under 13 Wolves winning the Horsforth Gala.
The Under 8’s Season drew to a close on the 5th July at Dewsbury Rangers summer gala. The boys had a very successful day with Woodkirk Valley Orange getting to the Semi Finals after some impressive performances in the Group Stages, unfortunately losing out to Saville Youth.
Woodkirk Valley Black went on to meet Saville Youth in the final after some equally impressive performances in the group stages and semi . The boys were fired up after seeing Saville Youth put there team mates out in the Semi Final and an excellent team performance saw them through to an excellent 5 - 1 win. All players received medals as this was a friendly gala and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all.

Woodkirk Valley Wolves U13's came away from the final Yorkshire Cup in Huddersfield with Silverware. After 3 days of competition the Wolves faced Deighton Juniors from Huddersfield in the first semi final, after knocking out BD3 from Bradford, Spen Valley Schools FA and Dalton Juniors from Cumbria. With a first half hat trick from Billy Phillips sealing a resounding 5 - 2 victory over Dalton. In a closely contested semi final match a supered free kick gave Deighton a 1 - 0 lead after 10 mins, Woodkirk had the better of possession and teritory but could not find a telling shot, in the second half the game was very evenly balanced unfortunatley Woodkirk could not find a goal to level the game, Deighton progressing to the cup final whilst Woodkirk moved into the Plate final to play Brighouse. Both sides played some good football at the end of a long day, both sides had chances goals from Phillips Haque and Porritt sealed a 3 - 2 victory for the Woodkirk Wolves. A double victory as the team also collected the age group fair play award a testament to the club ethos and spirit of the players. A fantastic effort from the squad that due to holidays and injuries included some guest appearances thanks to those lads and the parents for allowing them to play, well done to all the squad, Ben Rhodes, Jacob Tabor, Jack Turner, Sam Chippendale, Jahedul Haque, Luke Porritt, Tom Irvine, Scott Metcalfe, Will Boyle, Omri Linfoot, Max McCarthy, George Bagnall and Billy Phillips. Player of the Tournament for Woodkirk Sam Chippendale. The Wolves play in Division One of the Garforth League and are currently looking for new players for the season ahead, players moving into year 9 please contact the Manager Jason Tabor tel: 07940 210866.
