Dear Team Manager/Club Secretary
We would like to invite your Team/Club to our 2019 Football Gala to be held on the weekend of 15th and 16th June 2019. Those of you that have attended in the past will know how much we as a club pride ourselves in making everyone feel welcome and ensure the gala is run in the correct spirit that the game should be played in. To run along side the football there will be other activities to keep everyone entertained along with refreshments available to purchase all day.
Venue: The Den, Woodkirk Sports Club (formally Woodkirk Cricket Club), Dewsbury Road, Leeds WF12 7JL
Entry Fee: £25 per team and an additional £20 per team entered in the same age group
Team Format: U7’s and U8’s 5-a-side plus a maximum of 2 subs, all other age groups 6-a-side plus a maximum of 2 subs
Running Order for the Gala is as follows (age groups based on 2018/19 season):
Saturday 15th June 2019 Morning U7’s Afternoon U8’s & U9’s
Sunday 16th June 2019 Morning U11’s Afternoon U12’s
Morning: 9:30am registration with a scheduled 10:00am KO
Afternoon: 1:30pm registration with a scheduled 2:00pm KO
In accordance with FA rules/guidelines:
- U7’s and U8’s will be run as a friendly competition with each child receiving a medal.
- All other age groups will be based on a league format with top 2 teams from each league progressing to semi finals
Places are limited in each age group so please respond quickly to avoid disappointment as last years gala was oversubscribed. Enclosed with this invitation letter is a Registration Form. Please complete this and return with the appropriate Entry Fee (cheques made payable to Woodkirk Valley FC) ASAP to our gala co-ordinator:
