Mark was a former Naval Officer who served the country during the Falklands War and the first Gulf War before leaving to marry Angela. He is a proud father of 3 children who have all either played football or ran in Cross Country Teams for their Schools or Clubs. It was whilst watching sport as a parent that he realised that there was a need for a new football club in the area and along with a group of friends they formed Woodkirk Valley FC in June 2001.
He has had many roles in the Committee from fundraiser, Gala organiser, Team Manager and is now the Club Chairman.
He wears his heart on his sleeve for WVFC as many of you will know and he will continue to move the Club forward over the coming years.
He is an Housing Officer based in Chapeltown for the last ten years and voluntarily works alongside young people in an effort to challenge their energies into sport.
