Powerful Display from U12 Sharks

After a week off following their postponed home game against Rothwell & Carlton, our U12 Sharks were desperate for some football.  On arrival for their away fixture against Seacroft Colts, it’s fair to say that both players and Manager were disappointed with the playing surface – Woodkirk can count themselves fortunate that they have their own pitches which are well maintained by the club. In addition to their normal normal…

Our Soccer School runs on a Saturday morning and during winter months we are indoors at Morley Sports Centre, 10am to 11am.  The sessions are open to both boys and girls of all abilities so if…

U12’s Win on Remembrance Sunday

Rothwell & Carlton Giants vs Woodkirk Valley FC Before the game today both sets of players stood silent in remembrance of our fallen heroes – well done lads. To say the least, the quality of the playing surface was a disappointment.  However, as we had to switch the fixture due to our own pitch being waterlogged, our thanks go to Chris and his team for getting the game on. The…

Win No.4 for U12 Sharks

A hat-trick from Captain Sam and one from Tony was good enough to give our U12 Sharks a 4-1 home victory over Horsforth Galaxy. Before the game our Captain had arranged a minutes silence in aid of squad member Bradley’s Great Grandad who sadly passed away.  The lads would like to dedicate the win to Bradley and the rest of his family who were unable to attend the game. The…

U12’s Back to Winning Ways

After their disappointing performance in a 0-1 home defeat to Catalan 2 weeks ago, our U12 Sharks bounced back in emphatic fashion today with a 5-1 home win against a very good Seacroft Colts team. Goals from Tony and Brad plus a superb hat-trick from Captain Sam were enough to see the boys make it 3 wins from 4. A hat-trick would usually guarantee you the MoM award but Harry…

Win No2 for U12 Sharks

Our U12 Sharks continued their 100% start to the season with a 1-4 away win over Stanningley Albion. First half goals from Tony on 3 mins, Alex on 6 min, Brad on 23 min and Adam on 26 mins were enough to see Woodkirk take the 3 points.  The Woodkirk defence were outstanding and only conceded due to a penalty on the stroke of half time. In truth the better…

U10’s Girls tremendous effort against quality Castleford

The first ever league game for the Under 10 girls was against a very experienced Castleford team. In the glorious sunshine the girls, under interim managers Emily and Darren, played their hearts out in what was a very difficult afternoon. The girls refused to let their heads go down as they soon became under constant attack from the Castleford side. Some of the girls in the first half gave the…

U12 Sharks Impress against Leeds City

Our U12 Sharks (Garforth League) made a convincing start to the 2015/16 campaign with a 1-2 away win at Leeds City.  Goals from Brad and Sam secured the victory and Woodkirk would have registered far more goals if it wasn’t for some superb keeping from the Leeds GK. Today’s fixture saw Alex and Jack make their debuts for the club and both did very well.  As always, all the lads…
