Merry Christmas

It’s the last day of term for most of our players so after school finishes today they can look forward to Santa’s visit in under a week. Unfortunately, the recent bad weather has meant that we have not been able to play as much football as expected but lets hope that Santa can bring some nicer weather with him for the New Year! On behalf of the Committee and officials…

Gala Fun for Girls Development Squad

Sunday 29th November saw the girls development squad take part in the monthly football gala hosted at Leeds Sports Centre. A strong turn out of 16 girls saw Woodkirk enter two teams in one of the busiest galas to date. The Wolves took on some very experienced teams and from the first whistle gave 100%. It was non-stop across all six games with good skills, excellent commitment and some fierce…

Powerful Display from U12 Sharks

After a week off following their postponed home game against Rothwell & Carlton, our U12 Sharks were desperate for some football.  On arrival for their away fixture against Seacroft Colts, it’s fair to say that both players and Manager were disappointed with the playing surface – Woodkirk can count themselves fortunate that they have their own pitches which are well maintained by the club. In addition to their normal normal…

Fun & Games at Soccer School

The Soccer Schools boys had a fantastic training session this morning – a great warm up working with and without the ball followed by some small sided games and Cowboys and Indians to finish!! Our Soccer School runs on a Saturday morning and during winter months we are indoors at Morley Sports Centre, 10am to 11am.  The sessions are open to both boys and girls of all abilities so if…

U12’s Win on Remembrance Sunday

Rothwell & Carlton Giants vs Woodkirk Valley FC Before the game today both sets of players stood silent in remembrance of our fallen heroes – well done lads. To say the least, the quality of the playing surface was a disappointment.  However, as we had to switch the fixture due to our own pitch being waterlogged, our thanks go to Chris and his team for getting the game on. The…
