Woodkirk Valley Football Club - News |
Well done again to the under 14's- On Sunday, WVFC under 14's won the Crofton Gala. After 6 games, 6 wins and scoring 17 goals without reply, they were resounding winners, this made up for just losing out against Crofton in the Durkar gala. The whole team played exceptional football throughout. Congratulations also to the other under 14's team that made it through to the semi final narrowly missing out on an all Woodkirk final.

Lynsey has ideas about some of the events she would like to organise and would like to see if other parents want to form the committee and create a social calendar for the 2009/2010 season. Please contact Lynsey if you want to be involved in this.

Under 7s play in the Filey Tournament - Woodkirk Valley Wolves U7's played their first ever Tournament in Filey, 1st to 4th May 2009. Playing Clubs from as far away as Sunderland & Nottingham the Players gave a very good account of themselves.
Staying on The Haven site at Primrose Valley, the Squad really enjoyed themselves and made good use of all the site facilities. Playing over two days, the squad put the name of Woodkirk well and truly on the Football Map and the Club has received invites to travel to play some of the Academy Teams that were at the Tournament. The under 7s Manager said, "it took nearly a year to plan but it was well worth it. The Squad, who play as Two Teams, really made us all proud and not only gave a good account of themselves but produced some performances that were beyond their years, well done to everyone!"
